I'll need to get my wife info about your Banjo Wife Support Group! A few years ago I bought a lovely long-neck Vega banjo, made by Deering. I was in the kitchen playing with my new toy, and my wife on the other side of the house, knitting. After a while she poked her head into the kitchen and said, "Are you going to play that banjo for another hour?"

And she loves banjo - but I guess it has its limits!
