Thread Name: English National Anthem
Subject: RE: English National Anthem
I said on another thread - Song of the bow by Arthur Conan Doyle. Mate of mine has set it to music and it would make a cracking English anthem. And who could complain? English anthem by a Scotsman born of Irish parents! Well, I suppose there is nothing in it for the Welsh, and it is St Davids day after all...

What of the men?
The men were bred in England:
The bowman--the yeoman--
The lads of dale and fell
Here's to you--and to you;
To the hearts that are true
And the land where the true hearts dwell.

Cheers
