Thread Name: ADD: Kugelsville/Kuglesburg Bank (Lu Mitchell)^^^
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Kugelsville Bank
This was recorded by Lu Mitchell in 1966 (Lu Mitchell Records) on her LP "Sing In With Lu". There were some good original songs on that:

Planned Parenthood Lullaby
Chant of the Rat Race
Coffee, Tea, or Milk, Sir
The Gamekeeper's Song
Norman Vincent Peale
Down With Topless Bathing Suits
Little Boxes
The TV Lament
She's Someone's Grandmother
I Am An Anglican
They're Moving Father's Grave to Build a Freeway
Rhythm and Blues with Cardinal Spellman

"'The Gamekeeper's Song,' 'I Am An Anglican,' and 'Norman Vincent Peale' were collected by Lu from a drunken driver during a traffic jam on the freeway. Lu sneaked into the back seat of his car and taped him as he sang in quiet desperation. Most of the others were written by Lu and the ideas expressed are her own. If one detects overtones of hostility, malice, and anxiety, one has a reasonably good copy of the record."

She had a sharp wit and was a good singer.
Does anyone know about Lu now?
