I'm an idiot. forget the reference to the thread - i'll quit being lazy and list some, and maybe others will do the same. Too bad Susan Hill's songs aren't in the data base - she writes the most comforting songs I've ever heard. Some of Rita's choices: Come to the Bower [SP?}, Turning toward Morning (Bok), the one about friends in the kitchen and the trumpet vine(bok?), skye boat song, mockingbird Hill is amazingly comforting (at least with Rita singing it!), Rose of Allendale, Children of the Heavenly Father. Friendship songs are good. I don't know about your friend, but I think "forget your troubles come on get happy" songs are dreadful and depressing when you have something real to deal with, and I'd leave out funny songs, or make another one of just funny songs for when she's in the mood. I'm sure you can think of more! Help out, mudcatters?
