Yes, 282RA - I realise that I have to get my sea legs. I'm better than I was at first, but my sailing is never continuous for more than a week or two, and if it's rough I get seasick for a couple of days at least. Need to get out and do more.   Far rather not take drugs for it.

Lying down is good too, Patty, but it has to be fore-and-aft, not athwartships. I once spent 24 hours horizontal in the Norwegian Sea (just after seeing the midnight sun which occasioned splicing the mainbrace - a mistake, I fear) and in no condition to do anything but moan. The Skipper had to stand my watch for me - ignominy!   I was on top of the biscuit locker, too, and no-one had the heart to disturb me.
Trouble is, lying down is not the best position from which to skipper the boat!
