When an Office module 'breaks', I've found the only reliable way to mend it is to uninstall it, then reinstall (remembering to set it to run off the PC and not the CD).

I've seen this sort of thing happen regularly with Millennium Edition, and the only 'repair' is reinstalling the OS. Win98(SE) is usually more forgiving in that respect.
