On a fishing trip out of Whitby some years ago our fishing club had an Olympic standard seasick man 'Groundbaiting Jimmy' Mc Pherson. As per usual as we anchored about 10miles
out Jimmy was 'honking' over the side. Our skipper had brought with him a large jar of pickled cockles and had passed them around. As Jimmy came up for air the club clown George tapped him on the shoulder. Jimmy turned to see George with about 25 Cockles hanging out of his mouth. I can't remember Jimmy fishing that day!.
