At some point, with all of this fussing and twitching boards and cards and switches and plugs, you'll add up the hours you've spent on a seven-year-old computer, the value of your time per hour, and eventually you'll contemplate the real pleasure of a new computer and you'll just say "fuck it all" and go get a new HP (or whatever). For about 1/3 of the price of the old system and way more space and power.
