Apparently at least one State Attorney General agrees here, Foolestroupe. But of course they still have to be charged and convicted, so often it's more efficient, and gets results more quickly, to embarass them by letting the customers know what's going on. There is an investigation going on.

Our real problem is an illiterate consumer population that can't do simple arithmetic and is far too accustomed to, and tolerant of, advertising lies.
