   Just saw this thread. My singing partner, Margaret Nelson, and I played at the Folkway a couple times. First time was in 1984 on the first trip out East that we did (we're based in the Chicago area). We were booked at the last minute as the Wednesday open stage feature act. Widdie was still alive and booking it then. I never met her, since she wasn't there the night we played. We came back when it re-opened and Mary DesRosiers was booking it. I think it must have been 1994 or 1995. We played on a fall Saturday night. I think the house was about half full. We wound up booking a house concert for the spring at someone's house who was watching the show that night. That was also an interesting time. I really liked the Folkway and was sorry to hear that it closed.
