Personally, my cats stick their claws out when they jump on anything, because they're cats and they don't know what it's made of...

But I would say either park the car in the shade, taking away the attractiveness of the napping spot, or turn the hose on them a time or two...they'll get the hint and move along. Obviously, if they're your cats the keeping them inside option is best.
