Bring back the "bounty " on squirrels ( although those pesky ,grey,Ammerican things aren"t true squirrels, as we all know )---When I was a boy in the 50s, everybody with a gun or powerful air-rifle shot greys, and handed in the tails for the money ( not very much per tail, but it soon added up if you could shoot quite a few ! )
Mind you, so few people have guns now, it wouldn"t make much difference ! I used to shoot them in the grounds of a big house ,in Henley -on -Thames, with a Harrington & Richardson folding .410, at age 14 / 15 !! A gun -licence was ten shillings ( 50p ) from the Post Office----virtually anybody could get one, as long as they hadn"t had a murder conviction -------but today ?? No chance of having a gun, unless you are a criminal ,of course---apparently, that"s alright !!
