I would love to spend a year in the Washington area. The sense of history is overwhelming and the downtown glows. Every time I have been there it makes me feel like signing up as a volunteer; the forms are on every desk.

I like the Metro but I haven't taken a free or even close to free tour bus. I think I have taken the line the that Eddie1 mentioned. It is $25.00, as I recall.
