Speaking of nuts and squirrels, my brother had a surprise one day. It was hunting season and my brother and his companions arrived at his cabin in the mountains. Every year, using baler twine, Bill hung his hunting boots safely from the rafters to keep them from being gnawed by critters until the next season.

This one year when he went to cut them down, he found one boot more than 3/4th full of nuts.
