But Susan, why must my point be argued from a theological basis? I am not a theist. Surely my point can and must be argued from a secular stance, from the premises of logic, reason and humanity. Your stance is exactly what I am objecting to, and the point I am trying to make. Theists will not respond to argument outside of theology. And I am 'outside of theology', although, by background and through interest I know a fair amount of theology, and am likely more biblically well-read than many theists.
