Ed Rennie plays melodeon, sings, and is a thoroughly entertaining chap. For 10 years he has played in the popular English dance band The Bismarks. In 2006 he helped set up the Devon Squeezebox Foundation, to encourage the playing of mainly English traditional music on all forms of squeezeboxes. He's a first-class solo performer of English songs & ballads, adding some material from further afield. Ed is equally at home with melodeon, cittern, guitar or unaccompanied song & his performances have a relaxed air with balance & depth. The workshop is a very practical, hands-on exploration of the techniques for making people dance. The techniques translate to most forms of ritual & social dance. ED RENNIE PERFORMS AT THE LEWES ARMS FOLK CLUB IN THE EVENING (£5; advance tickets available from address at end of this form)
