Flash

I was diagnosed with cancer of the womb three years ago. They took me in for a total hysterectomy three days after diagnosis. Tests showed that the cancer had been contained within the womb and I didn't need any further treatment.

It's most lilkely, for Petrina, that they will want to gop in the traditional way, via an incision into the abdomen, so that they can look around while they're removing the womb. That will mean a longer recovery and convalescent time but means that they can do a more thorough job of getting rid of any cancer that is there.

Petrina will need to take it very easy for quite a while and, even after recovery, may need to take heed of the fact that there are large internal scars. I overexercised and have ended up with an incisional hernia as a result.

Please send her lots of love and good wishes from me - I hope that all goes well.
