One of three simultaneous workshops by Tom McConville, Aaron Jones and Claire Mann. The three of them perform together at the Lewes Arms in the evening.

Lewes Arms Workshop No 80 AARON JONES BOUZOUKI & dadgad GUITAR WORKSHOP Places £20 Saturday 24th. March 2007 10.45 a.m.- 4.45 p.m. The Royal Oak, Station Street, Lewes, East Sussex BN7 2DA
Aaron was declared Instrumentalist of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards in 2005 and performs with the top Scottish band Old Blind Dogs. He lives in Edinburgh & tours extensively in the UK & North America, Europe & Australia. The workshop will look at all the skills required to play & create interesting & original accompaniment parts on bouzouki & dadgad guitar. Chord charts will be handed out on the day.

10.45 Registration & coffee; order lunch (refreshments not included) 11.00 Chord repertoires, chord substitution & linking the chords; a look at improving your arsenal of chords, alternative chord structures & opening up the neck of the instrument. 12.30 Lunch 13.30 Right-hand technique & building a complete part: jig rhythm, 'damping' & a look at constructing a backing part through the course of a set of tunes. 15.15 Tea/coffee break 15.30 Song accompaniment & arrangement. 16.45 Finish
