Geez, there's a dancing and party barn on the banks of a swamp about oh twenty miles east of town where I spent a great evening learning the twostep Cajun style, and playing with the band for a couple of numbers. Altho the band wasnative nad half Cajun their music was amix of trad and popular but it was a carload of fun. They laid on good chow and free beer for a company function I went to. Tellya what, I don't remember the name -- something Barn -- but you ask around and the folks in New Orleans will always help you out. Your hotel might even have a concierge type character who could tell you the exact place.
