I've been doing a fair bit of messing around clearing up the garden the last week or so.

You think you're in charge, and that you do the deciding about that kind of thing yourself; and then you realise people all around are doing the same, and when you go down to the garden place to buy some stuff, it's buzzing with people after the same kind of stuff, and you realise you're just doing what the weather and the time of year told you to do.

I rather like that. And the other thing I like is that you never finish finding things to do in a garden, and it goes on without you when you've done.
