Just had a play. Disabling cookies does not cause me the problem that ddw is experiencing. It simply won't allow the cookie to reset and I am aways a guest.

Making Mudcat into a trusted site has worked as expected so if anybody using IE 5 who would accept the Mudcat cookie but no others could adopt the approach I suggested.
