And thank you, Sinsull, for hosting another great evening!

We left around 11:30 pm and though it was still snowing most of it melted on the roads and we really didn't have any problems driving our hour back up the road to Richmond.

The food was again a delight. The shrimp curry, the chicken alfredo, the mussles, all drew my attention but there was much, much more.

The house was chock-a-block full with earger listeners, chairs, musical instruments, food and drink. If someone sneezed the entire house would rattle!

I haven't heard "Willie's Lady" in years and that was a delight. I remember the first time I heard it and tracking it down in the university library for copying, working out the minor chords. And there was "Patrick Spense" to add more cheer to a wintery spring evening, not to mention "Bringing Nelson Home." John Roberts was certainly in fine form. During the break he caught me staring at his pile of Anglo concertinas, and kindly explained how he could tell which one was which.

The one new song I tried out was "Midwatches" by old sailor-poet Burt Franklin Jenness; it's a keeper but I needed more than a week to get it hard-wired in.

Coming up in late April will be another nautical music swap at Captain Bunker's China Sea Marine Trading Company Annex, his wonderful barn in New Gloucester. I'll initiate a new thread soon with details. There appears to be no conflict with any scheduled musical event at Chez Sinsull or any other one in this area that I'm aware of.

Cheerily,
Charley Noble
