A further suggestion for folks planning to attend on this Saturday would be to stop at the China Sea Marine Trading Co. shop in the Old Port of Portland, 324 Fore St., between the U.S. Customs House and Rosie's Restaurant. It's a truly magical place where as soon as you step in the door you'll smell the scent of old tarred gear, see flashes of brass and shadows of ship wheels and lanterns, paintings and prints of nautical scenes, and mysterious carved figures from Africa and the South Pacific. As C. Fox Smith phrased it:

All among the keys without a lock, and locks without a key,
The old boss-eyed binoculars and sextants on the spree,
New Brummagem and old Bombay a-tumbling side by side,
A brown bald-headed idol and an "Extra Master's Guide," –
Mouldy, musty, dumb and dusty, broken on the shelf,
I thought I heard the sailor's fiddle singing to itself.
