I have long puzzled as to why the guitar's sound captivated me so much when the piano is capable of so much. I've decided that in my case it's because there is as much a percussive quality to the sound as anything, which creates great rhythmic drive, and, secondly, my ears were too accustomed to the piano sound to appreciate it fully.
