Hootenanny - in his competition performance Frank Skinner tried to play what was a good arrangement of John Hardy, which I suspect he'd got sussed in his practicing. It's the stage fright that prevented him from making a good job of it, causing him to lose his thread a few times. I've tried playing banjo in front of an audience of American experts and I know the feeling - it's desperate unless you know the tune so well you can play it while thinking of other things entirely. I agree the makers had no clue about the music and the culture.
