It's interesting reading some of the news reports on this. I've copied a couple of paragraphs:

The rubble from the wall will be ground up and used on the site, possibly buried beneath the proposed multi-sports stadium. Minders watched carefully to make sure the media didn't claim chunks of the wall for resale.
