Brian - I remember quite clearly the suspense of waiting to see the oncologist after they removed my cancerous womb. There had been a lot of argument between my son and my daughter as to who I should stay with if I need radiotherapy to remove all traces of the cancer - both felt that they had the best hospital close by to do the job.

My daughter came with me to the oncology appointment and, when the specialist told us that the cancer had only got part way across the womb and I wouldn't need any further treatment, my daughter just broke down and cried. That started me off and, when a nurse came into the room and saw us the oncologist had to explain that they were tears of happiness.

that cancer showed me how many good friends I had and brought home to me how much my children loved me.

I hope that Petrina's diagnosis is all clear on Friday.
