I was just looking to download the most up-to date version of Zone Alarm (free) firewall. At the downloads page, I was presented with an option which claims that you can get the full featured version (normally pricey) for free by using something called Trial Pay. To lift what it says :- Do you know you can get a copy of fully licensed ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite for free? Through our new partnership with TrialPay, you can try or buy products you already need from hundreds of name brand retailers and THEY will pay for your software.
What I want to know is ... Where's the catch?
Has anyone come across the deal? Is it worth signing up for (they want your e-mail address) am I going to get "Targeted Offers"?. Do you REALLY get something worth having for FREE? IS there a catch? Do you end up committed to paying out for something else to qualify for what you get? Is it just a strings free way for them to advertise other stuff which you have no obligation to buy?
Just wondering! If it is worth going for I see no point to any of us missing out on a better deal than the free option, but I don't want to be caught in something I can't afford.
