I remember the club at the White Horse in Didsbury - maybe it was the Cavalcade then, the name has been changed so many times. It was on the junction of Barlow Moor Road and Oxford Road and a great barn of a place.The club was in the upstairs room .
I remember one night we were there, Steve Mayne sang "O good Ale" which has the line in it: "how soon I would give her two black eyes" and the room erupted with catcalls from a large group of very angry women. I don't know how he ever got off the stage that night.
