Thread Name: Lyr Req: 'Til the Storm Passes By (Mosie Lister)
Subject: RE: Till the Storm Passes Over (Hymn)
Two young girls who belonged to a Church of God In Christ {COGIC} congregation taught this uptempo gospel song to my daughter in the mid 1980s. And she sung it for me.

Here are the words as I remember them:

THE STORM IS PASSING OVER
traditional

Encourage my soul
and let us journey on
for the night is dark
and I am far from home.
Thanks be to God
the morning light appears

The storm is passing over *
The storm is passing over
Hallelu

Hallelu
Hallelu
The storm is passing over hallelu

I found this online as a google cache html version of the file http://www.joyfulvoices.org/Lyrics%20Project/PDFs/Current%20Songs/Encourage%20My%20Soul.pdf.

Sorry, for some reason I can't hyperlink to it. But you can google this under these key words: encourage my soul and let us journey on.

* over is pronounced "o-vah"
