If I sing to the terriorists, they quickly vacate the room, I don't think dogs are in commune with human music. Our cats are outside cats and will always come to have a chat, they may not have any 'human' words but they certainly understand more than we give them credit for. I talk to our horses all the time, I think they understand the least of all the animals but just the fact that I try to converse with them relaxes them. I don't have any special way of talking to them, I just treat them all as I would another human friend. I get the feeling that they just cary on as normal and 'humour' me to keep me happy.
