Bush has spent his last eight years blowing a budget surplus and driving the nation into historically extreme debt; curtailing the civil rights of his own citizens in the name of national defense; invading two nations and precipitating thousands of American deaths and tens of thousands or perhaps hundreds of thousands of other deaths, maimings, maulings, and ruinations of person. He has dissipated and wasted the greatest surge of goodwill toward America the world has ever seen and turned into a nadir of poor repute for the nation. He has adulterated the Constitution, and caused traumatic disruption of thousands of American lives, made a complete mess of Iraq and a half-complete mess of Afghanistan.
