Thanks, my friends.
My daughter is staying home with her until her "dad" can get back to town from work. The vet said it is either a brain tumour/cancer, an infection or, possibly, poison, though none of the other canines show any signs of the same. Diz is only 6 or 7 years old so a little young for a stroke and the vet said those are fairly rare.
If it's poison, the vet thinks it's just about run its course and she will probably come out of it. If it's an infection they can treat it. If the other, it would cost thousands to take her across the mtns. to Ft. Collins for an MRI and possible surgery.
Thanks, Lucy, glad to hear your pup is okay after having a stroke. They took blood and will have the results of those tests sometime this afternoon. If it is bad news, her dad, Gary, is going to need a lot of help as she has been there for him through all kinds of thick and thin; he's in a somewhat fragile state himself.
She's such an incredible being...she knows something is wrong, but there are no complaints from her, just a gentle acceptance of love and hugs and pats with a three year old eye-to-eye with her on the floor, saying "It'll be awright, Deezee."
Thanks, Susan, I know...thankfully it will not be my decision and she has been a teacher all along, for Morgan and his young pups as well as the newest pup her dad got for her to teach. We're just not ready for her to go.
