I lived in St. Ippolits once.

My favourites though are 'Turnham Green' (in London) and 'Much Hadham' in Essex.

Runners up are 'Messing' and 'Mucking' both in Essex. The 'ing' ending is Saxon for family or people thus Barking derived it's name from 'Boerca's people'

Then there are names which just sound funny like 'Stanstead Mountfitchet' or 'Stapleford Tawney' or 'Mountnessing Roding'

I guess it's obvious from this post that I lived in Essex for quite a while.
