UNICORN CEILIDHS
-HIGH ENERGY PUBLIC CEILIDHS FOR DISCERNING DANCERS OF ALL AGES-
Present on
FRIDAY 27th APRIL – THE WOODPECKER BAND
The Woodpecker Band is well known in the south of England for its coverage of festivals, large regional ceilidhs and smaller local events. The Band has a large repertoire of traditional and modern dance music, mostly from the British Isles, but also including music from other countries. The band's unique sound is a product of traditional and modern elements of music and style fused with a solid electric rhythm section giving the band an easily identifiable contemporary edge.
The band is Mathew Green, fiddle, Jeff Dando, melodeon, Ali Smith, bass guitar, Dave Eynstone, guitar, and Steve Finley, drums and percussion.
"The Woodpecker Band - here's a ceilidh band that play with great zest and commitment to the job in hand: watch the room light up the moment they start playing". Hugh Rippon - caller & author.
The caller for the evening will be the band's fiddler, Mat Green, who combines the challenges of playing and calling at the same time with style and panache!

Our interval entertainment is Windsor Morris - formed in 1974, they are the longest established women's morris team in Berkshire.
They're a friendly, energetic and enthusiastic group and enjoy Morris Dancing as a fun way to keep fit and socialise.   http://www.windsormorris.org.uk/wm_about.htm
