I knew Walter Vinson in Chicago & taped him at a friend's house in l962. Vinson (or Vincson) was an original member of the Missippi Shieks. He told me he had written "Sittin' On Top Of The World" and it had been ripped off from him by various blues artists. The drunker he got the more angry he got about that song and he simply wouldn't sing it for us. I recall asking Walter why he'd moved to Chicago from Mississippi.
