Thread Name: Help: Know Any Fishing Songs???
Subject: RE: Help: KNOW ANY FISHING SONGS???
Ah I falsely anticipated the false rhyme in Walleye- "Shinder" should be "shiners" [fixed it]

In 1994 an outfit called Fish Head Productions released a compilation of fishing songs called "Goin' Fishin', The Greatest Fishing Songs Ever (15 Classic country & Novelty Catches)" The cassette I picked up around then is Sony Music Special Products BT24567/FHP CA 0494. It may also exist as a CD. What follows are the title and artist listings. Some of the songs have been mentioned in this and the previous thread.

Fishin' (Elvin Bishop)
Crawdad Song (Red Foley & Evelyn Knight)
Gone Fishin' Again (Bobby Bare)
Fishin' Blues (Taj Mahal)
Catfish Boogie (Tennessee Ernie Ford)
Fishin' Worms (Heywood Banks)
The Fishin' Hole (Andy Griffith)
Six Pound Fish (Boxcar Willie)
Everybody's Fishin' (Dr. Lew Childre)
The Five Pound Bass (Robert Earl Keen, Jr.)
Boudreaux Was A Nutcase (Austin Lounge Lizards)
Fishin' Forever (The Hagers)
Fishin' Again (Elvin Bishop)
Gone Fishin' (Bing Crosby & Louis Armstrong)
What Is A Fisherman (Robert Fuller)

The gang at Fish Head Productions claims they had 200 songs from which they chose this 15. Also according to the liner notes, Bobby Bare released a whole album in 1987 called "Bobby Bare Sings Fishin' Songs"
