Thread Name: Lyr Req: I Don't Want to Get Adjusted (Weavers)
Subject: Lyr Add: I DON'T WANT TO GET ADJUSTED TO THIS WORL
I found this on a Weavers album from the 50's, "The Weavers on Tour". In introducing the song, Lee Hays says it was from an old hymn, but he may have had tongue in cheek.

-------------

I DON'T WANT TO GET ADJUSTED TO THIS WORLD Weavers

In this world we have our troubles,
Sometimes lonesome, sometimes blue,
But the hope of life eternal,
Brightens all our hopes anew.

CHORUS (2x)
I don't want (I don't want) to get adjusted (to get adjusted)
To this word (to this world), to this world (to this world).
I've got a home that's so much better,
I want to go to, sooner or later.
I don't want to get adjusted to this world.
