Subject: BS: Are family values a thing of the past
Just back from a family holiday in France. It was wonderful, we are thinking of buying a home there. There is a wonderful British community in the area we visited, really made us feel welcome. Without exception every family we met were a collection of either two or three families binded into a new relationship.

"This is Peter, and these are his kids from his first marriage, these three are mine from my first and second marriages".

We asked ourselves the question does anyone from Britain stay married anymore ?

I may have grown up in rural England with old fashioned values, but I had no idea of the number of "new starts" among the British aboard. Possibly it´s similar here at home, it´s just we don´t really mix much with people in our area.

Within a generation it will come to the point were brother will marry sister unaware of who their parents are.

Marriage seems to easy to walk away from these days, no one puts energy into making it work anymore. My mother and father are married 61 years and Susan my wife saw her parents celebrate 55 years of marriage.

I am aware times and values are changing, but it´s not the world I grew up in.
