One of the lessons kids learn in school is which battles are worth fighting. If the Moslem child's parents told him that the ham sandwich was worth protesting over, they gave him spectacularly bad counsel. And if the principal took action based just on this incident, he or she made a stupid decision-- and made his or her own job needlessly much harder.
