Barack never needed to protest his way to success. He earned it on his merit, which of course is why he was chosen to be the subject of the parody .

Perhaps he didn't have to "protest his way to success" because of the Al Sharptons, Jesse Jacksons, etc. of the Civil Rights Movement!

Nothing Rush does is without spite and prejudice.

Also, the singer didn't sound like Sharpton at all, he kept dropping out of whatever character he was trying to put on.
