Local Post Office window works for me for dispersing all sorts of stuff.
Might the school library be able to use the books ?
Oxfam now sort their stuff more rigorously and have seperate shops selling books - there are a couple in Nottingham where you can just drop them off.
Family First are usually grateful for decent usable items of furniture which they will collect- the telephone number will be in the directory.
Get together with some neighbours and have a joint garage sale ?
Please don't chuck it , I just cannot abide waste !!!
