My mother always used to pooh-pooh Mothers' Day as a "greeting card holiday" and insist she didn't want gifts or anything. I agree, but it sure is nice to get special phone calls from both my sons wishing me a happy day! Actually, this year -- as a Grandmother by less then two weeks -- I beat Dan to the punch by calling up to wish Geeta a happy Mothers' Day. She reported that her new son had given her a special present by sleeping in an extra hour!
