Thread Name: Lyr Req: Two Little Boys (Country Gentlemen)
Subject: Two Little Boys/Country Gentlemen
I have found the lyrics to this elsewhere on the Web but never of the version that I knew from childhood. Can anyone supply the missing links? Here is what I hear them sing:

Two little boys had 2 little toys, each had a wooden horse
Gaily they played one summer's day, 4 years old, of course
One little chap had a mishap and broke off his horse's head
Grabbed for his toy, and cried for joy when he heard his brother say
Do you think I could leave you crying, when there's room on my horse for 2?
(missing)
When we grow up we'll both be soldiers, our horses will not be toys, and maybe we will remember when we were 2 little boys.

Long years had passed, war came at last, bravely they marched away
(missing) were wounded and dying away
Then came a cry, a rider dashed by, out from the ranks of blue
Galloped away to where Joe lay, and he heard his brother say:
Do you think I could leave you dying, when there's room on my horse for 2? Come up here, Joe, we'll soon be flying
(missing)
Can't you see, Jack, I'm all a-tremble, it may be the flash and the noise
Or it may be because I remember when we were 2 little boys.

I always loved this one, but now that I have 2 little boys who are 4 years old, I wonder harder than usual about the missing pieces. Thanks.
