I believe David Grisman, Jerry Garcia, John Kahn(?), and P Rowan could pretty much deliver the music, as certainly could Mr Clements. If they all had buzzcuts and cowboy hats the bluegrass establishment would've wet themselves praising them.

God forbid any musician should stray from their imaginary cultural boundaries..
