Say, I just realized why there are no woodchucks on or around this property. It's the water table, it's not far under the ground here. If you dig down a few feet anywhere on this property, you find water. Lots of it. This makes it completely unfeasible for a groundhog to live here, as his burrow would be flooded. No wonder I haven't seen any of the little rascals hereabouts. (sigh) We do have a lot of moles, however, and they do their level best to damage the lawn.
