Thread Name: Chord Req: Brown Photographs by Fivepenny Piece
Subject: RE: Chord Req: Brown Photographs by Fivepenny Piec
The basic chord sequence to this goes:
Am Ive sat on her knee for Dm Many an hour at E7 Brown photographs we'd be Am Looking Am She'd tell of the times that Dm She's had in her life some E7 Good some tears and some Am laughing. She'd F Tell of the G Times when C Life was so grand when the F Mills were all G Weaving and C Spinning. In her Am Bonnet and shawl at the Dm Start of each day to E7 Work to play then her Am Courting
I've sat on her knee for many an hour At brown photographs we'd be looking And she'd tell of the times that she's had in her life Some good some tears and some laughing And she'd tell of the times when life was so grand When the mills were all weaving and spinning In her bonnet and shawl at the start of each day To work to play then her courting
Her day it was long, most of them hard They didn't pay much for her working But when it were done she always came home To a house that was poor but was loving And she lives all alonr since my grandfathr died She don't have the same joy of living But she don't mope around, she's always a smile Old fashioned advice she likes giving
She says times have changed, people have too They're too busy fighting and grabbing When she were lass well they hadn't much brass But ere never frightened of giving Now my grandfather's boots are still there by the fire As if home from the mill he'll be coming And as evening'll draw then you'll find her alone By the fire, her memories living
Rpt Verse 1
I've sat on her knee for many an hour At brown photographs we'd be looking.
Hope this is OK for you. The initial introduction is Amin followed by Am in with the first finger lifted off the string with a bit of picking around it. (I could show you but describing it is another matter!) Let me know if you need any more information.
