Thread Name: Mudcat concern
Subject: RE: Mudcat concern
Aldus, I think it is precisely the variety of interests and tastes that bring out some of the differences of opinion. MOST of the folks here are respectful of these differences: You might love Band X while I detest them. But I wouldn't denigrate you for your musical taste. It gets a little stickier when the threads move into politics or social issues, such as gun control. Sometimes tempers flare, even among those who have communicated as allies in the Mudcat. Then, as you say, there are those who just seem to want to stir things up. You just have to learn to read past it. There is too much good, practical information and advice on the Mudcat to let all the Flamings become a big factor. I myself have been seriously insulted and told to F**K off, but you know, I don't even remember what it was about, I don't care, it didn't affect me very much. Some nameless Guest out of a world of billions. Do yourself a favor, and join up. Fairly painless, a few keyboard entries and no money involved. We could use another personality around here who doesn't think every thread is an occasion to insult everyone with differing opinions.
