It certainly is fortunate there's no election in the US right now, since it seems a lot of the "politics must be purified" believers would sit home. And there are probably still enough voters of sentiments close to those of Dickey that--frighteningly enough--Bush would be re-elected.


Sorry, people, politics is still the art of the possible. I mean even the Stones told you--"You can't always get ....

And as I've said before, as far as Iraq is concerned, at this point it's only a question of how much attempted manipulation by Bush the Iraqis can take--where their boiling point is--and therefore when they tell Bush to shove off.

That will tell the tale--what Congress does or doesn't do is basically irrelevant.
