To drift slightly - that Logan Act sounds pretty weird. As I read it, it looks as if any American taking part in any activity abroad relating to any "controversial policy" involving the United States is liable to be banged up in jail for three years. Go on a demonstration or sign a petition about Iraq, say, when you are abroad, or even, say, outside a foreign embassy, and you're at risk.

Strewth! I don't think there are many democratic states with laws like that!
